What’s New This Year?
The annual telecast is making history by expanding the broadcast to
Puerto Rico. It marks the first time the countdown has ever aired in
Spanish.
Viewers will also get to ring in the new year an hour
earlier than usual since San Juan is in Atlantic Standard Time. That
means when it’s 11 p.m. in New York City, it’ll be midnight in Puerto
Rico.
Who’s Hosting?
Each city’s countdown has its own host. Seacrest will hold down the fort in New York’s Times Square with Koshy. Ciara will party in Los Angeles for the fifth consecutive year.
Porter will once again ring in the new year from New Orleans with a medley of his hits. While Sanchez is set to make her New Year’s Rockin’ Eve debut in her home island of Puerto Rico.
Jessie James Decker will also return as the Powerball correspondent for the third year in a row.
Live From New York
Karol G, Chlöe Bailey and Journey will all perform in the Big Apple. LL Cool J was set to perform but announced on Wednesday, December 29, that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Who’s Celebrating in Los Angeles?
The list of artists performing in L.A. includes Avril Lavigne & Travis Barker, Macklemore, Big Boi, OneRepublic, AJR & Daisy the Great, Don Omar with Nio Garcia, Mae Muller, Masked Wolf, Måneskin, Polo G, Walker Hayes and French Montana. The party will also be DJ'ed by D-Nice.
Who’s Performing in Puerto Rico?
Reggaeton star Daddy Yankee will play a hometown show in San Juan.
