In a special movie tie-in for the season the movie Smurfs clashed with the original cartoon. Making it a made for DVD only retooling or re-smurfing tale of Charles Dickens The Christmas Carol. This one revolves around every season Papa Smurf gives everybody a new hat to warm their heads. Grumpy is getting sick of it, all he wants all he's ever wanted is something no one can afford....a sky flyer of his own. It takes the efforts of Smurfette, Brainy and Hefty to make him realize the true meaning of the holiday.

Good news Star Wars geeks old and new, George Lucas may have passed the torch as director of the franchise.  But fear not J.J. Abrams is keeping the legacy alive and well. With the Empire now split into a new faction called the first order and a whole new slew of misadventures in mind, Star Wars is back in action. As Mark Hamill is quoted as saying in a behind the scenes show " The old has become the new. Just with more technology than ever before." Episode Seven comes in saying "The force is still strong with Lucasfilm. " And it delivers. 10 out of 10.

Mythbusters jaime says good-bye

CAUTION: Expect the imagination to become reality and the absurd to become truth.

This was by far the best of MythBusters I've seen in a long time even if the show ends there will always be more shows like this that will try to explain the unexplainable. But MythBusters in it's own right will go in as one of the greats. I would say to anybody who wants to know if this happens will I get a bad result or the result that I wanted, this is the show for you.

AHS: Hotel

The plot centers around the enigmatic Hotel Cortez in Los Angeles, California, that catches the eye of an intrepid homicide detective (Bentley). The Cortez is host to the strange and bizarre, spearheaded by its owner, The Countess (Gaga), who is a bloodsucking fashionista. This season features two murderous threats in the form of the Ten Commandments Killer, a serial offender that justifies his actions in accordance with biblical teachings. And also armed with a lot of Familiar killers, such as the midnight stalker who inherited the hotel, the psycho clown killer John Wayne Gacy. With the notorious flesh hunter  Jeffrey Dahmer. 4 out of 10

They were accused and subsequently convicted of a series of killings in Los Angeles. Clark was charged with six murders. At his trial, he acted as his own defense and tried to blame Bundy for everything, portraying himself as an innocent dupe. The jury did not believe him; he was sentenced to death in 1983. He still sits on California's death row. Bundy on the other hand, made a plea bargain and, in return for her testimony, only received a life sentence. Bundy died on December 9, 2003 in prison at the age of sixty-one from heart failure. This is the story that would rock L.A.

The howl ( pun intended ) gang is back in this sequel seeing where now Mavis is happily married to her human boyfriend. And the hijinks continue as humans are now checking into the once home away from home for the undead. 5 out of 10, If you never saw the first one..... one wouldn't need to. just to enjoy this one both 1 and 2 focus on the same basis of childlike humor. 

BRIDGE OF SPIES

This is based on the true life story of one devoted lawyer during the cold war who was so bound to his job as a citizen of the USA that he would go so far as to never settle for second best. If you told him to do one job and that's it he would go out and finish the whole  thing. Tom Hanks delivers a stellar performance in this film, which shockingly is helped out with in the writing credits by none other than Joel and Ethan Coen! This goes as a VERY strong 10 out of 10.

Finally all of R. L. Stine's popular creations get their own movie, but what I'm still trying to find out is why did  Jack Black decide to take on 3 roles 1 that wrote the books another that wants to do everything to see him dead and the other that's just a wacky invisible kid? 8 out of 10.

CRIMSON PEAK

This  let me down, it wasn't as scary as I thought. I went with my dad and frankly he didn't think so either. Although Tom Huddleston and Jessica Chastain play their roles respectively, some parts become predictable. But I will give it this, it is October after all and it does make for a good scary story. 5 out of 10

This movie was made by the same guys who gave us Robot Chicken on Cartoon Network at night.
it was an ok movie but even though it maybe animated I warn all adults teenagers are ok for this one but no kids. The reason I say this is because yes I have seen some parents with kids in movies that end up scaring the crap out of them. Otherwise Bob Odenkirk made for a looney prince of darkness Susan Sarandon played her part quite well as an angel named Barb, the thing that didn't really make sense is why would you make a blood oath as a game? 6 out of 10

This movie is based on a book about a stranded astronaut played by Matt Damon and the choices one makes if it was ever to happen to anyone. I saw this movie as a sneak peek so to say in July, it is a good family movie ( that is if the family happens to be all adults) I give this a 10 out of 10 it makes you think about what will our futures hold?

P.S. This didn't come out in September it is coming out officially in the U.S. October 2nd I just thought of this as a better picture as it shows more of the planet's scenery.

Hike the Appalachian trail, along with a Des Moines native and friend... he dares to prove he can do it. I give this movie a great 10 out of 10 not only are Robert Redford and Nick Nolte good, but the movie overall shows people what it's like to hike out in the wilds of nature. Trust me anybody who wants a movie without blood and guts or fast paced action and loves a movie they can relax and just see the wilderness and what it's for will love this one.    

Straight Outta Compton

Eazy-E: They want N.W.A, let's give em N.W.A.

N.W.A (Niggaz with Attitude) were a Compton, California-based hip hop group widely considered one of the seminal acts of the gangsta rap sub-genre. Active from 1986 to 1991, the group endured controversy due to the explicit nature of their lyrics. They were subsequently banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations and even at times prevented from touring - yet the group has still sold over 9 million units in the U.S. alone. Their second album, Straight Outta Compton, marked the beginning of the new gangsta rap era as the production and the social commentary in their lyrics were revolutionary within the genre. Rolling Stone ranked N.W.A. eighty-third on their list of the "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". Although largely unknowns at the group's inception, rappers Eazy-E, Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and MC Ren would all go on to be platinum-selling stars in their own right.

This is  the Documentary of how these four people formed a group that instilled fear and racism to get their point across sometimes using sexual content. But nonetheless achieving notoriety and fame all to break up after the loss of a member. 9 out of 10.

Just don't get caught in the limelight so much you forget everything. There is a time for stardom and a time for family. At times family might take precedence over holding a microphone.8 out of 10.

For anyone who has watched all of the DBZ movies of Son Goku's ongoing adventures through the afterlife. Get ready, Goku's toughest rival has returned.......Frieza! This will be a battle that will take everybody who has ever been killed and resurrected to beat this fowl foe. Can the Z team defeat a god?

This movie is about a huge misunderstanding and how that misunderstanding comes with a deadly price. We have always thought for centuries that we were not alone in the universe. This time set in the Regan era the aliens take a peaceful message as a threat almost like we are mocking them, and send down aliens disguised as retro games to attack the planet.

This movie is basically along the lines of Supersize me. It follows a man this time around played by  Hugh Jackman and the man is on a mission to find out Ok, we eat foods with sugar in them all the time. But just how much sugar in the body is to much?

SHAUN THE SHEEP

Shaun the sheep is a teenage sheep who lives in a barn, causing mischief then trying hopefully to fix up the disasters he himself created. This movie has no dialogue...... but that's the thing about it you can see what they are saying by each ones facial features and basically their grunts. This is a movie for kids and parents who like movies where it's like what are they saying? But if you are only one who thinks well don't just stand there, say something! You won't get it, don't bust your head over it. 9 out of 10

VACATION

Rusty Griswold: If Vin Diesel can do it, so can I!

This venture back to Wally World is as zany as the first 1983 movie, in a good way not bad. Chris Helmswoth didn't give much to the movie, but Chevy Chase fixed that with laughs. Also Rusty's family spent very little time in the amusement park then in the 1983 movie where Chevy spent most of his time going insane 9 out of 10

TRAINWRECK

When she was growing up, Amy was told by her father, repeatedly, that monogamy is impossible; as a grownup, she has become a commitment-phobic but successful career woman. But when an interview with a sports doctor turns into a night out with a man who seemingly has no defects or hangups Amy can use to justify breaking up, she may have to face whether her fear of commitment is keeping her free, or holding her back. We al have fears about who is mr. right or who says they want to marry you just because they think your desperate. But when it comes down to it, the one who turns out to be mr. right is the one who will take you for what you are see past all your faults and live with you no matter what happens. that's true love, the others end up in well the name says it all

Anybody who has ben a fan of Scooby Doo or  anybody who is a KISS  guy or girl will love this. Once again this time in 2015 Scooby and KISS are teamed up again for a mystery that will be a chart topper for both of them. The Psycho Circus is being invaded by a  being know as The Destroyer, can Scooby and the gang and KISS solve the mystery before it's to late!

This one is about a man dying of cancer and in the future the only way is to switch bodies with a new person. But the new body has disastrous effects.

Mr. Holmes

Sherlock Holmes: I've decided to write the story down; as it was, not as John made it. Get it right, before I die.

This tells the story of the greatest Inspector from London chronicling his last case and his life all around his compatriot in solving crimes is long dead. And Holmes himself is growing old and frail. With a son who is on the rise to become just like him someday and his smarter but annoying brother Mycroft his last case he will ever solve in his life is his own. 9 out of 10, Sir Ian McKellen does a dynamite job as an aging Sherlock and it also shows the true Holmes not the man of myth that Doyle gave us.

ANT-MAN

Hank Pym: [to Scott] Second chances don't come around all that often. I suggest you take a really close look at it. This is your chance to earn that look in your daughter's eyes, to become the hero that she already thinks you are.

This movie if I had to sum it up is about redefining yourself. It's true sometimes for somebody who had a past that they would most likely want to forget.... 2nd chances are a very rare thing. But if you find the determination and  the will to make a difference the rewards will come. First you need to regain the trust from the people you lost it from, it may take time but day by day the people will observe you making sure you aren't trying to feed them a line. I give this one a 10 out of 10, Because like I said it shows one can change if they really want to.

Bob the Minion: KING BOB!

Where did these yellow midgets come from? Well in this movie we will turn back the clock, way before there ever was a Gru . This my friends is the tale of the minions origin and their on going search to find a master or die trying. 8 out of 10...... you have to understand the minions lingo to get what they mean but besides that this is not just a movie for adults but the whole family.

WEIRD AL 2015 CONCERT

TV screen: ARE......YOU.......READY........FOR.........FUN??

I saw this concert in Mystic Falls Casino in St. Paul MINN. As a belated Birthday Present given by my father, everyone I know has seen Weird Al except well....me. And what I can say is I liked it. He showed that he could entertain the crowds just as much as people listening or watching his movies theme songs or TV satires. My mom and I were laughing and clapping all the way through the concert. This was truly a Present to be cherished forever.

TERMINATOR GENISYS

Everything is all messed up in this one they call it a reboot but terminator of 1984 is there so is t-1000 of t2 then we add the newest terminator the guardian. What's what anymore? I mean James Cameron did a good job bringing the terminator to life but now it's just a mix so mixed up you'll come out of it going ok who was the good guy again and what the heck! this one 8 out of 10, be lucky I even gave it that.

Something has gone very, very wrong........ and it's affecting every animal large an small making them go ballistic. To where no one is safe, a doctor has to race against the clock to find out why the animals are acting so violent.

Max is a movie about a dog that mourns the loss of his owner in the midst of the Afghanistan war. But soon after the fact he learns from a boy, his family and his friends that life does in fact go on as the boy and the dog bond through the weeks Max finally realizes that he has found his calling in this new master. Max is a retired marine service dog in the movie, but there happen to be millions of other service dogs.
  Service Dogs - An Assistant Dog that can perform a variety of tasks such as retrieve items, open doors, help a person dress or push buttons for its handler.  Service Dog is a general term that can be used for many types of assistance dogs.

Autism Service Dogs – An Assistance Dog that is trained to alert its handler of certain behaviors so that the handler may keep these behaviors to a minimum. This dog provides stability and the dog’s presence offers a calming influence and provides focus. Abstract and concrete thinking advance, focus improves, and the length of attention span increases.  The important role of an autism service dog is affording the individual more independence and autonomy, helping those individuals becomes a viable part of the community.

 Mental Health Service Dogs:  An assistant dog that works with a handler that has a mental disability.  Some types of tasks could be to attend a handler who may need a dog to be able to go out in public (agoraphobic), or a handler who suffers from. Panic attacks, anxiety attack, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) or other mental health disorders.  These dogs are trained NEVER to leave their handler's side except for when required by their handers. And an honorable mention service dog........

are you viewers ok? The guy didn't bore you did he? Good, ok let's get to the real thing. I think this was a very good continuation of the saga. It basically told you what they planned to do with Isla Nebular after the events of The Lost World. I give this a 7 out of 10, not a bad movie but they didn't need to recycle the same stuff from 1,2 and 3.

This isn't just an original movie but a 3 time remake. One in 67, one in 98 and one now. The story revolves around a woman who has inherited her farm from her deceased father. With her sister aiding her, she becomes a stern, independent woman who has to juggle the responsibilities of the farm and batting off proposals from two men who want nothing but control of her newfound estate. It isn't until someone besides her tells her to choose what she thinks is right that she finds out what she's really missing in her life.7 out off 10, this is a very good movie for the one you love. Because it shows what women of age have to go though and the wise decisions they have to  really look at in order to find Mr. Right. 

Tomorrowland

There are two wolves who are always fighting. One is darkness and despair. The other is light and hope. The question is: which wolf wins? The one who feeds.

The meaning of such a question and the answer to it is simple. We choose what our own destiny will be and how it will play out as the result. In the movie we know all about Tomorrowland as one of the many attractions in Disneyland, Disneyworld and Epcot Center. This was suppose to recreate the feeling of The World's Fair back in the old days the way that Walt Disney himself saw it. There are 2 ways to enter the world of Innovation......1 is a pin given to only those who dare to dream bigger and 2 is the It's a Small World ride where at some point during the ride a secret latch will uncover and send you to the entrance to the world itself. The story revolves around the fates of two people, Frank Walker played by George Clooney and Casey Newton played by Britt Robertson who are both led by an AH (Artificial Human) Droid named Athena. The critic's blasted this movie, well as this movie critic will say " I totally disagree." It seems most movie critic's these days want is if you're not in jeopardy or your life being at stake it's gotta be a flop.......Not true, not ever! 9 out of 10.

UPDATE: I have just now heard that the other film critic's have just gone back on what they have said about everything being so horribly wrong about this movie. Now they are now saying this is Disney's No.1 movie of the summer and it is now a must see. Yeesh newspaper critic's can NEVER  make up their minds it seems.
